I can’t lie, I have a pretty large selection of foundations and there are many favorites amongst them, but my never-ending curiosity to find the next “must have” product search never really ends.
So when I saw this new foundation on pretty much every social media accounts, I had to try it out. I’ve had this for almost 4-5 weeks and I must say I’m very impressed.
In words of Dior “Get perfect, 16-hour foundation coverage and broad spectrum SPF 35 protection from day to evening. This foundation leaves a luminous matte finish, flawless correction, and exceptional comfort. It’s enriched with Poreless Effect skin care essence, leaving the skin’s texture looking more refined with each wear. Designed with an egg-shaped container with a beveled side, the high-density, soft-touch material deposits just the right amount of product, allowing for precise application and perfectly even coverage.”
This foundation comes in a 30ml/1fl/oz glass bottle (making it look every chic). The bottle has a pump, which always makes it easier. The foundation itself contains SPF35, which is a big plus. The texture is quite creamy but doesn’t feel heavy in anyway. I bought the shade #031 Sand, which has a yellow undertone.
The coverage is great and it really does brighten the skin and provides a smooth finish. I don’t notice any oxidisation, if anything it adjusts to my skin tone once it settles. The only warning I have is: it does take a bit more time and effort to apply this foundation. It needs to be blended and worked into the skin really well to get the full effect.
The very first time I used Diorskin Forever Perfect Foundation, I applied it with a beauty blender. Unfortunately the tapping/dabbing motion of the sponge didn’t do much justice to the finish. I found the best way this foundation applies is by using a dense and flat-headed foundation brush. In my case the Sigma F-80 Flat Kabuki Brush was perfect. It really helped distribute and blend the product onto my skin. That’s when I really achieved the coverage and the finish I was expecting.
I have an oily T-zone and I would recommend setting this foundation with a light dusting of translucent powder if you have oily skin. Other than that, Diorskin Forever Perfect Foundation really is a very impressive foundation which lives up to all its claims and I highly recommend it if you’re after a new foundation.
Available in 25 shades, Diorskin Forever Perfect Foundation Broad SPF 35 retails at $64.00 CAD
