Foundation Routine For My Oily Skin

If you have oily skin like me, this post is for you! I’m going to walk you through an easy foundation routine that helps me with the oilier parts on my skin and the spots where I tend to have redness.

I start out with a colour correcting primer to cancel out the redness around my nose. If you’re like me and have redness in certain areas, apply the Makeup Forever Radiant Primer in the Redness Correcting Primer in that specific area only. The green pigment cancels out redness and keeps the skin hydrated. I also use the Radiant Primer in Peach to add radiance and cancel out any dark acne spots on my face. If you use these primers there’s no need to colour correct you entire face because these primers does the job for you.

Now I use a second primer for my oily areas, for me it’s my T-Zone. I dab a bit of the Makeup Forever Mattifying Primer on my forehead and down the bridge of my nose. It keeps my skin from getting shiny and makes my foundation last longer. If you have pores, give this one a try it helps to reduce a pores size and gives your makeup a more even, flawless look.

Now on to foundation. For foundation I use the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in the colour Warm Nude – light with neutral-to-golden undertones. This foundation does not look like makeup on the skin. It literally looks like your skin but better. It covers all of my old acne scar pigmentation beautifully and blurs my pores. It stays on my oily skin perfectly all day without moving around! It is a great long wear, amazing for my skin, and full coverage!

To highlight, I use the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in the COLOUR Custard – yellow tone for light to medium complexion. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer is ideal for all skin types. It blurs the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and hides those nasty dark circles. it layers lightly and it is also buildable for medium-to-full coverage. It has a natural luminous finish.

After I set my foundation I use the Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Foundation Powder in the COLOR 5 – medium beige with yellow undertones. Everything stays put and my face. The products overall look amazing all day long. To set my highlight i use the Translucent Loose Setting Powder.

All done! My redness is covered and my oily areas are under control. Even with the layers of makeup, everything feels lightweight on my skin. I love natural finishes. This is my go to makeup, I do this almost every day!

xo.
